From
the 21st to the 25th of October, 2019, the IV International Seminar on Critical
Thinking will be held, organized by the Universidad Veracruzana (Xalapa, Mexico), with
the support of several universities. The challenges of formation are enormous,
of great significance and, therefore, difficult to solve. The coordination of
all parties involved in the learning process is needed for its change and
substantial improvement. Institutions are required to modify their objectives
and, above all, to increase the resources allocated to them. On the part of the
teachers it is convenient that they increase their awareness about other ways
of understanding their activity. But, and that is what matters most, it is
necessary that teachers and students work differently, and not in a occasional
manner, but in a generalized way. It is precisely in the daily action aimed at
improving learning that critical thinking (PC) has some things to say, due to
the way of approaching and executing the essential processes of knowledge acquisition.
These should always be a double nature, cognitive and non-cognitive, and both
should play their roles on the board of best knowledge. CT can address the
challenges of the 21st century society because it has a conception and a
methodology that has improved even efficient performance, making it effective.
In this sense, learning, as a whole, should have within its functions to
stimulate this way of behaving, in order to form people to significantly
transform our society for the common good. With this objective in mind, during
these days, a set of conferences, communications, and various workshops will be
held by renowned professionals from different areas of CT. These days will be
not only an opportunity to learn about the advances that have occurred in
recent years in this discipline, but also an opportunity to enrich the applied
work of different professionals. The endorsement of several universities that
support the entire event will undoubtedly guarantee the interest of these
conferences for academics and professionals from different countries in Latin
America and Europe
